Why join the AGB Stars?
Austin Girls Basketball is a girls only basketball team that primarily focuses on our players skill development not winning tournaments. We teach all aspects of the game from ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, man to man defense, etc. We teach situational game recognition, player and team responsibilities and much more.
Our Skills Academy is what sets us apart from all of the other programs you have to choose from. We focus on the small details and aspects of the game that will help your daughter develop a strong foundation of fundamental basketball skills. We spend the time to teach and work on footwork, shooting form, change of direction dribbling, ball fakes and floor spacing. We will introduce them to and teach them how to play at a high level of intensity.
Our practices have two parts. We like to call it "Skills and Scrimmage". Every 2 hour practice will feature high intensity in our skills development and instruction. We follow "Skills" with our "Scrimmage" or realistic game play with coaches teaching in real-time. We focus on getting our players to use the skill sets we work on during the earlier practice session to reinforce the learning process.
Our program is for medium to high skill level players. We will focus on each players individual development, really focusing with them on the specific skills th tthey need to improve on. If you are tired of the same old aau programs that stress winning meaningless tournaments and short cut your daughter's development then come play with us.
